Rhossili Rectory Holiday cottage rental in Rhossili – sleeps 11

Thank-you for a wonderful stay in the Rectory last week. My family and I have stayed 4 times in the Old Rectory over the years, so I found yours by accident when ’Googling’ Rectory. Although we had fantastic holidays there, it is not only very expensive but does not allow dogs. My children also refuse to go there as it is so haunted! Your house seemed the perfect solution and proved to exceed our expectations. It is wonderfully comfortable and well appointed – big sofas, loads of cutlery and crockery, super showers, televisions and fridges! The joy of taking our dog on those beaches and seeing her collapse in the evenings was a pleasure. The enclosed garden made it so relaxing with children…and definitely not haunted (I wandered around the house in the night when it was windy, to check that the windows were closed, and felt completely at home). Anyway, again, a wonderful house and worth every bit of the 2 year wait!

Start the day…with a brisk walk along the Gower Coastal Path. Gower is all about the beaches and the views – a stroll along the clifftops, almost anywhere in the peninsula, will take your breath away. The most dramatic is the tide-dependent walk from the clifftop of Rhossili out along the promontory known as Worm’s Head. Check when best to attempt it with the tide tables at Rhossili Visitors Centre, at the start of the walk…The Worm’s Head promontory is the beginning of a four-mile stretch of paradise. You have to walk down the cliff path to reach it, which guarantees its exclusivity. Jutting out of the sands is the hull of the Helvetia, wrecked on the beach while carrying timber in 1887.’

‘We had such a fantastic time…the house, the views, the walks, the beaches, the weather, the surfing…I could go on! We had a wonderfully relaxing, refreshing and exhilarating holiday and we definitely want to come back next year…if the house is available.’
